The late Sonny Bono's widow, Mary Bono, has now married fellow congressman Connie Mack in a private ceremony over the weekend. Both Mary and Connie are Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Mack (R-FL) and Bono (R-CA) had been dating for two years. According to Bono's chief of staff, Frank Cullen Jr., Connie Mack proposed in late August while the couple was on a camping trip in Utah. They were married Saturday in a private ceremony with 35 family members in attendance.

Katherine Whitaker, Bono's sister, hosted the ceremony at her house in Asheville.

Mary Bono, 45, replaced Sonny Bono in Congress after his death in a special election in 1998. Connie Mack, 40, is the son of a Florida senator of the same name, and great-grandson of Hall of Fame baseball manager Connie Mack. Mack has been married once before, and was divorced.
