Pete Doherty had to be rescued from a sinking rowing boat at Loch Lomond Festival on Saturday (August 2).
The Babyshambles man and five mates set sail for the VIP area after the band's set, hiring a boat from a local "Para Handy-like figure" on the Loch, according to the Daily Record.
However, the boat capsized 30 yards from the shore, leaving the "shivering" singer to sing sea shanties to his pals as they awaited rescue.
"It was freezing and we had a laugh, but it wouldn't be funny if someone had died," Babyshambles manager Adrian Hunter told the newspaper.
"Halfway to the shore we lost an oar so the boat was drifting, but we didn't really mind. Then we realised it had sprung a leak and water was coming in fast. It sank about three quarters of the way over and we all ended up in the water," he added.
Pete and his crew were eventually rescued one-by-one by Adrian's brother Kevin.
"He swam like Tarzan and saved us all," he said.

Pete Doherty 'buries kitten' before gig

Pete Doherty buried his kitten by the side of a road on Tuesday night (27.05.08).
The Babyshambles frontman, who recently bought three new cats bringing his total to 10 felines, revealed his pet had passed away as he was travelling to his solo London show at Brixton's Mass club.
Pete, who was seen taking one of his cats to the vet last week, told the crowd: "Sorry I'm late. But considering I've had to bury one of my cats at the roadside I've done pretty well to be here."
Before the 29-year-old rocker arrived at the show, fans were told he was running late because his "kittens had gone crazy".
When Pete arrived, a member of his entourage was seen carrying one of the cats backstage.
Earlier this month, it was claimed Pete had bought several pregnant mice for his pets to feed on and was letting the rodents roam around his London home for the cats to catch.
He recently revealed he realised his drug use was spiralling out of control after he attacked one of his beloved pets.
Pete said: "I got a shovel and was going to kill one of the cats. It was a bit of a crazy time."
The musician was also caught up in a cat controversy last year when it was alleged he had been feeding one of his animals crack cocaine.

In the film, entitled ‘Winemouse’, Doherty and Winehouse hold the rodents up to the camera while mimicking their voices.
At one point, Winehouse holds a mouse up to the camera and Doherty compares it to Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell.
Adopting another mouse’s voice, Winehouse refers to her imprisoned husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, saying: “Blake please don’t divorce Amy, she loves you.”
Fielder-Civil is currently in custody on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
Earlier this week, Doherty spent the night with Winehouse following his prison release gig at The Forum in Kentish Town.

Pete Doherty admits cheating prison drug tests

Pete Doherty has admitted he cheated drug tests while in prison.
The Babyshambles frontman, who recently left London's Wormwood Scrubs Prison, claims he only got his drug-free certificate because he used another inmate's urine.
He said in an interview with NME magazine: "I was banging it. The only time I tested clean was when I used someone else's p**s."
Pete also revealed how terrified he was during his incarceration at the tough jail after one prisoner threatened to stab him.
He said: "It was quite hard work. Constant shouting, 'Pete, is Kate Moss a good s**g? Give us a song.'
"I woke up to hear, 'You wait, I'm going to see you outside and stab you up.' "
Despite his drug boasts, the 29-year-old rocker realised his substance abuse had spiralled out of control when he attacked one of his beloved cats.
He added: "I got a shovel and was going to kill one of the cats. It was a bit of a crazy time."
The hell-raising musician has also confirmed he will be working on a follow-up to Babyshambles' Shotters Nation album.
Pete added: "That will keep me busy and, hopefully, out of trouble."
He also revealed singer and pal Amy Winehouse is working on new material with the band.
Doherty confirmed the Rehab singer teamed up with guitarist Mick Whitnall in the studio while he was in London's Wormwood Scrubs Prison.
He told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Mick and Amy have a great relationship. They have been working on material while I was in prison."
The collaboration, first sounded out last year, is tipped to be released as a single and will appear on the next Babyshambles album.

Pete Doherty freed from prison
martes, 6 de mayo de 2008 Publicado por Shujel en 12:59 | Etiquetas: Pete Doherty
Rock star Pete Doherty has walked free from prison.
The singer, who has fought a long and public battle with drug addiction, served just 29 days of a 14-week sentence for breaching his probation.
He left Wormwood Scrubs Prison in West London at around 7.10am on Tuesday.
Dressed in a suit and tie, he told the waiting media he was pleased to be out and was looking forward to having a rum and coke and spending some time with his pet cats. Doherty was engulfed by a media scrum as he left the imposing Victorian prison.
Smoking a cigarette the tousled-haired singer borrowed a reporter's phone to call for somebody to come and pick him up.
He described prison life as "a lot of gangsters and Radio 4" and showed the waiting media a certificate confirming that he had passed a drugs test while inside.
Asked if he had taken any drugs whilst inside the prison, he replied: "Well, I knew it was going to be a bit rough to start with, repeated with the overcrowding and the medical facilities although they do their best - they are good, they can't really cater for the average junkie..."
His release caused such a stir with passing motorists that a bus and lorry shunted into each other outside the prison causing a long traffic jam.
As he walked through the prison's exit Doherty said: "Thank you Mrs Thatcher for putting me in the company of the most dangerous criminals in the country."
He said he had kept a journal while inside and showed the waiting press doodles and sketches he had penned in his cell. Doherty used his release to tell the media that one of the people he had met inside prison was innocent and had been jailed for a crime that someone else had confessed to.

Pete Doherty 'segregated' in prison

Rock star Pete Doherty has been segregated in prison for his own safety, it has been revealed.
The singer is serving a 14-week sentence in Wormwood Scrubs, west London.
Earlier this week photographs were taken of the 29-year-old in his cell amid claims that he has been taking heroin in jail.
Pictures of Doherty taken on a mobile phone were published in The Sun. They showed him sitting in his cell wearing a blue T-shirt and grey tracksuit bottoms, and talking to other inmates on a landing.
The newspaper claimed that, despite being given the heroin substitute methadone, Doherty was also taking the real thing.
A Prison Service spokesman told the newspaper: "We will act on any intelligence which indicates drugs are being smuggled or abused."
It was reported that the singer had been signing autographs for prison officers. Doherty was jailed for breaching the terms of his probation, having appeared in court several times charged with drugs offences.
His solicitor, Sean Curran, confirmed a report on Sky News that Doherty had been segregated for his own safety.
But he could not verify whether it was because fellow inmates were planning to attack him.
The report said prison officers had told Doherty of a "plot" against him.

Pete Doherty taking heroin in prison
miércoles, 16 de abril de 2008 Publicado por Shujel en 10:08 | Etiquetas: Pete Doherty
It is supposed to be one of the highest security prisons in the UK, but it reportedly hasn't stopped English musician Pete Doherty from finding a way to get high on drugs. The 29-year-old singer, who had been jailed for missing out on drug tests, has been found injecting heroin smuggled into London's tough Wormwood Scrubs slammer.
"We can't believe how much he's still clucking for it. They put him inside to force him to give up but Pete always has a need to feed his habit," the Sun quoted a fellow inmate as saying. Doherty is at the moment receiving methadone, which is a substitute for heroin, from the doctors who are trying to wean him off. However, the rocker is topping up with the real thing, say reports.
Doherty has no source of income and is at the moment getting his drugs by begging credit from fellow lags and writing IOUs. He is sharing a cell in the Scrubs' Connibere detox wing with a 28-year-old drug dealer. "He hasn't received his prison wage yet so he's getting the drugs on credit and writing IOUs," the inmate said.
When Doherty first arrived at the prison, rumours started going around that he had brought a stash of drugs with him from the outside, making the singer seek protection by striking up friendship with a burly ex-street fighter named Ray, who is now protecting him from the prison lags. "It wasn't true but it was enough to make people want to find him and rob him. Ray is making sure this doesn't happen," the inmate stated.
Prison officers are said to treat Doherty like a superstar - and tramp from other wings to get his autograph. "He usually signs his name next to a scribbled smiley face with a trilby," the inmate added.
He also said that Doherty slept on a urine-stained mattress and has been told he will be transferred to an open prison when a place is available. A Prison Service spokesman said on Apr 15, that strict action would be taken against anyone breaking the rules. "We will act on any intelligence which indicates drugs are being smuggled or abused," the spokesman said.

Singer's rep denies he's the father of Laura McLaughlin's baby
Pete Doherty is reportedly set to become a dad again.
Laura McLaughlin is 3 months pregnant and claims she was a virgin before spending a weekend with Pete at the Berkeley Hotel in London's Knightsbridge in October.
The 20-year-old - who is the god-daughter of Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson - says she conceived when a condom split.
'The baby is Peter's,' says Laura. 'There is no doubt about that.
'I told him I was pregnant the moment I found out shortly after Christmas. We are only in contact by phone.'
The child is due in June, but Laura says Pete's not interested.
'Our weekend together wasn't just about sex,' she tells The News Of The World. 'We cuddled up to watch the movie Dirty Dancing together.
'His apathy has been traumatic.'
But 28-year-old Pete's spokesman denies the claims: 'Pete says he doesn't know who this girl is.'
The Babyshambles frontman is currently linked to 19-year-old model Portia Freeman and already has a 4-year-old son with ex Lisa Moorish.

Pete Doherty Avoids Jail Yet Again
sábado, 27 de octubre de 2007 Publicado por Shujel en 13:40 | Etiquetas: Pete Doherty
So much for Pete Doherty's unsupervised lifestyle.
Just two days after one judge revoked the Babyshambles frontman's court-supervised drug treatment, another judge has sentenced him to 18 more months under supervision and ordered him to complete a 12-month drug treatment plan that requires him to submit to twice-weekly drug tests.
Even so, the renewed court supervision was a boon for the troubled rocker, who managed to skirt the slammer yet again.
In addition to the supervision order, Doherty was handed a four-month suspended jail sentence stemming from a series of drug- and driving-related offenses.
He was also banned from driving for six months. And he was fined $800 for driving without insurance and $154 for not having a valid inspection certificate for his car at the time of his arrest in May, after which he pleaded guilty to possession of crack cocaine, heroin, ketamine and cannabis.
"You have made strides, and I hope you will continue in doing so. I would hate to see you going backwards," District Judge Davinder Lachhar said in court.
She said she had suspended the rocker's sentence upon hearing of his positive progress—the same reason Judge Jane McIvor elected to revoke his court supervision earlier in the week.
On Wednesday, Doherty, 28, vowed he would continue his battle to stay clean.
"I think I am going to have to [give up drugs]," he said. "I have kind of had enough, really.
"It is just the beginning, you know what I mean, in their eyes. My life has changed, but I'm still a little bit wobbly. I am taking it one day at a time."
