Sarah Palin Meets President Obama

jueves, 29 de enero de 2009 |

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said she will attend an exclusive club dinner in Washington this weekend because she could be offered the chance to obtain an audience with the new elected President Barack Obama as he is also expected to attend the elite gathering of Washington's political and media establishment.
Palin said she is participating in outside events, like this Saturday’s Alfalfa Club dinner in the nation’s capital, strictly to promote Alaska's interests as its governor.

Palin said she formed SarahPAC earlier this week, a political fundraising organization, so that she would not be using state funds to attend events that might be considered political. She is the first governor from Alaska who ever formed a PAC, a move that has often preceded presidential runs. However, Palin denied that it means she is already plotting a 2012 presidential bid on Wednesday night, saying that she has no intention whatsoever to participate at the race for the White House.

Sarah Palin rose into the public eye last year as GOP presidential candidate John McCain's running mate. Aides said the PAC will help serve as a vehicle for her political activities going forward, even if that does not mean Palin aims for becoming president.

She also tried to clear things up regarding the fact that she does not have a publisher for a book deal, saying that the amount of $11 million that the media believes she will earn is absolutely laughable.

Paris Hilton Gives Fashion Advice to Sarah Palin

viernes, 10 de octubre de 2008 |

In the latest Harper's Bazaar, Paris Hilton shares with the readers some words of wisdom about Sarah Palin’s dressing style. Deeming the vice-presidential nominee’s body as being „hot,” the hotel heiress expresses her opinion that the latter should show a little more skin and give up her pantsuits. Paris’ alternative: well, what could be more revealing than a swimsuit?

Yes, Paris Hilton tells Palin out with the pants, in with the inappropriate attire (for both her statute and the weather).

And just to put some icing on the cake, Hilton went even further, stating that, if she ever were to become president of the United States, she would wear only American designers. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, her clothes would be all creations from Calvin Klein, while the rest of the year, she’d go for Donna Karan’s designs.

Moreover, the White House would undergo a total makeover under her administration: the cabinet would be replaced with a walk-in closet, an infinity pool would definitely be a must and, not at all surprising, she would be welcoming dignitaires wearing platform-shoes.

Actress, singer, model (and so forth) Paris Hilton, 27, is probably best known for her tumultuos night-life, her appearance on the TV series „The Simple Life” and of course her 2003 sex-tape. Oh, and let’s not forget her 2007 jail-time.

As for the one she so carefully looks after, where fashion is concerned, Alaska governor Sarah Palin, she has been nominated by the Republican Party to be John McCain’s running-mate in the 2008 elections, thus rendering her GOP’s candidate for vice-president of the United States.

Madonna: 'Sarah Palin Isn't Welcome On Tour'

miércoles, 8 de octubre de 2008 |

Madonna has made her dislike for Sarah Palin very clear by banning the politician from attending her world tour.

The singer shared her political views whilst performing a show in New Jersey as part of her Sticky & Sweet tour.

She told the crowd: "Sarah Palin can't come to my party. Sarah Palin can't come to my show. It's nothing personal,"

And this outburst against the Republican party is not the first for Madge.

On her current tour she used John McCain's image in a video clip alongside scences of destruction, global warming, starving children and Adolf Hitler.

A spokesperson for McCain's campaign said Madonna's actions were, “outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive all at the same time.”

Madonna Bans Sarah Palin From Shows

martes, 7 de octubre de 2008 |

Madonna stated on stage during her show in East Rutherford, N.J. on Saturday that U.S. vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin isn't welcome at her shows.

"Sarah Palin can't come to this party," Madonna said. "She is not in my show. She will never be in my show."

She later went on to say, "Here's the sound of Sarah Palin's husband's snowmobile when it won't start," and then made a screeching noise with guitar feedback.

Madonna had previously been criticized by a spokesperson for Republican U.S. presidential candidate John McCain's campaign for footage she's using during her Sticky & Sweet tour that shows McCain interspersed with images of figures like Adolf Hitler, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il, Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe, U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, Gandhi, Mother Theresa, John Lennon and Al Gore.

According to the newspaper USA Today, McCain's image is shown closer to more "villainous types" like Hitler and Kim, while Obama's image is closer to people like Lennon, Mother Theresa and Bono. The footage also includes shots of starving children and scenes depicting global warming.

McCain campaign spokesperson Tucker Bounds called the footage "outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive all at the same time."

Lindsay Lohan calls Sarah Palin homophobe

lunes, 15 de septiembre de 2008 |

After Matt Damon and Pamela Anderson, Lindsay Lohan has come out swinging against Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin. And the Mean Girls star has taken it to the social networking site MySpace.

"I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin," the New York Daily News quoted her, as stating on her MySpace Music page. "I couldn't be more supportive of a woman in office, but let's face it, it comes down to the person, and their beliefs, male or female," she added.

Lohan also believes that Palin is not ready for job. "I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States, only four years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor. Which is probably all she is qualified to be," she said.

The 22-year-old also referred to Alaska governor's views on homosexuality. "Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?" she stated. "Is our country so divided that the Republicans' best hope is a narrow-minded, media-obsessed homophobe?" she added.

Lohan also attacked the mother of five for recently appearing on the covers of several magazines. "Oh, and... Hint Hint Pali Pal - Don't pose for anymore tabloid covers, you're not a celebrity, you're running for office to represent our, your, my COUNTRY!" she added. And, finally, Lohan wrapped things up with a quote from a fellow actress: "In the words of Pamela Anderson, ''She can suck it.''

Oprah Winfrey: Sarah Palin Can't Come on My Show Until After Election

viernes, 5 de septiembre de 2008 |

At first blush it seems like a double standard. Initially, it seems like the inability to live up to your own rules and expectations but mostly, it says a lot about someone who wants to use their power to block any visibility of a person with a set of different beliefs.

As Jessica Warren is reporting in The National Ledger, Oprah Winfrey is balking at having rising political star Sarah Palin on her show. Apparently her staff is sharply divided. She is a well-known backer of Barack Obama.

In Warren's article, I was surprised to read that Winfrey had blocked Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas from being on her show when he wrote a book. That wasn't very nice.

I must ask, what would be the reaction if let us say David Letterman refused to interview Barack Obama. I truly believe you would hear Oprah shrieking from one end of the country to the other.

In related articles, Winfrey has issued a statement that she won't allow Palin on until after the election. She has had Obama on twice, although he was not yet an official candidate. I seriously doubt no references were made with respect to a possible run for office.

According to the Winfrey, this is the first time she has decided to use her show as a platform for politics. Does it have anything to do with the fact Obama is black?

I recall when David Letterman interviewed Hillary Clinton when she first ran for office. He was demeaning because no one gave her a chance, but he let her come on his show

After Hillary Clinton won the election in a major upset Letterman had her back on his show and apologized. Oprah Winfrey should have so much class.

For years Oprah Winfrey has claimed to be a fair and impartial person solidly behind women's rights and their progress. If she wants to be for Barack Obama by all means go for it. However, to try and bar a person from getting attention is wrong, Winfrey is wrong.

The fact of the matter is that Oprah Winfrey fears Sarah Palin. She fears how she will look next to her but mostly, she is afraid that Palin will get even more of a head of steam and slam Obama. Shame on you Oprah.

Jamie Lynn supports Sarah Palin's daughter

jueves, 4 de septiembre de 2008 |

Teenage mother Jamie Lynn Spears has sent a gift to potential Vice President Sarah Palin's 17 year-old pregnant daughter, according to sources. A source close to the Beverly Hills baby store Petit Tresor told CelebTV.com that it was actually Lynne Spears, Jamie Lynn's mother, who called for the gift, and requested the gift come from her daughter.

"It was ordered by phone, and they asked what could be done for under 100dollars, they spent 60 dollars on pink burp cloths," Fox News quoted a source, as saying. Jamie Lynn Spears gave birth to daughter Maddie Briann with fiance Casey Aldridge in June.

John McCain's running mate Sarah Palin recently made it public that her daughter, Bristol Palin, is five months pregnant.

Lindsay Lohan advice on Sarah Palin’s Daughter’s Baby Drama

miércoles, 3 de septiembre de 2008 |

Lindsay Lohan has been updating her blog again, and her latest entry is offering advice on one of the hottest topics at the moment. As we know Sarah Palin’s daughter, Bristol is pregnant and it is that fact that has got people talking.

So many people have been saying that Sarah should not stand as John McCain’s Vice President. Lohan has some strong views on this; she has offered a fair and balanced political view on the situation.

Lohan wrote “I get Sarah Palin’s views against abortion, but I would much prefer to hear more about what she can do for our country rather than how her daughter is going to have a child no matter what. Maybe focus on delivering some words and policy with stronger impact like Joe Biden.”

Lindsay Lohan then ends her blog entry by a message about the importance of teaching children safe sex, as well as the consequences of not practicing it.
