"Civil conversations between them have been few and far between in the past year. But over the last week things have improved. Guy had Rocco over for a visit when Em (Madonna) called to see if he was okay, as she always does when she is away from the kids. Rocco was speaking to her and suddenly turned to Guy and said, 'Daddy, daddy. mummy is crying'. He then handed Guy the phone," said a source close to them.

"It's unusual for Em to turn on the waterworks, but this has really upset her. Explaining to Rocco why Mercy wasn't coming home has been difficult. Guy was incredibly sympathetic, calmed her down and told her to be happy with the family she had," added the source.

Madonna And Guy Ritchie Unite Over Kabbalah

Madonna and Guy Ritchie put their differences aside and made a fractured family visit to London's Kabbalah Center with Lourdes, Rocco and David yesterday. Ritchie has been staying with the whole family in the mansion for the holidays.

A source reports that Madonna and Guy took separate cars - with Madonna in one with Lourdes and Guy with the boys.

Madonna, Guy to spend Christmas together

Pop queen Madonna and former husband Guy Ritchie have reportedly decided to celebrate Christmas together for the sake of their children.

The couple, who divorced recently, have struck a deal to share a traditional family celebration at Guy's Ashcombe House estate with their children.

The 50-year-old singer, who is in South America, will arrive in Britain on December 23 with their sons 8-year-old son Rocco, three-year-old David and her daughter Lourdes, the 'Daily Mail' reported.

The couple, who were granted their decree nisi last month, are still fighting for better custody rights over their two sons. Currently, they have equal custody rights.

Madonna, who has left London and returned to US, wants the children to live with her in New York while Ritchie is keen for his son Rocco to be educated in London.

But despite their differences, the couple have reached an amicable agreement over how to spend the Christmas time.

"Madonna and Guy want the best for the kids and so she has decided to come over to the UK so they can be with their father.

"The plan is for them to be together on Christmas Day at Ashcombe House. Madonna arrives in England on December 23 and is planning to stay for Christmas," a source said.

Ritchie, who is working on his new movie 'Sherlock Holmes', spends most of the week in his new London home.

"Because of what the kids have been through this year he wants to treat them to a really special Christmas with stockings of presents and a big tree," the source added.

Madonna, Ritchie granted preliminary divorce

The show-business marriage that began in a Scottish castle came to an end in a drab London courtroom Friday as Madonna and Guy Ritchie were granted a preliminary decree of divorce.

Papers released by the court said Madonna petitioned for divorce on the basis of Ritchie's "unreasonable behavior," but did not elaborate.

Judge Phillip Waller ruled that he did not need to apply family law in the case — meaning that he accepted an agreement reached by the couple over their assets and children.

Neither appeared at the brief court session, in which "Ciccone M L v Ritchie G S" was one of 17 cases given a preliminary decree. The divorce can become final after six weeks and a day,.

British news media reported, without identifying the sources of their information, that the couple had reached a settlement that would see the pop superstar keep the majority of her estimated 300 million pound ($445 million) fortune and share custody with Ritchie of their two children: Rocco, 8, and David Banda, 3, who was adopted from Malawi in 2006.

Madonna has a 12-year-old daughter, Lourdes, from a previous relationship with personal trainer Carlos Leon.

Requests for comment from representatives for the couple were not returned.

An agreement on terms would avert an expensive courtroom battle like the one between former Beatle Paul McCartney and model Heather Mills. Mills has said the media coverage of the rancorous divorce had pushed her to the brink of suicide; McCartney compared the process to going through hell.

Madonna and Ritchie, director of "Snatch" and "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels," married in December 2000 at Skibo Castle in the Scottish Highlands.

Madonna and Ritchie announced last month they were divorcing. They own homes in London, Los Angeles and New York, and a 1,200-acre (480 hectare) retreat in England.

Only days after announcing their split, it seems that both parties are already ready to move on, with reports rolling in that both Guy and Madonna have new partners.

Guy – who is currently directing an adaptation of Sherlock Holmes in the UK – has reportedly picked British actress Kelly Reilly as a shoulder to cry on.

Guy Ritchie will get 60 million pounds in property and cash in his surprise settlement with Madonna, it has emerged. According to reports, the Brit director shall receive 20 million pounds in cash and properties worth multi-millions, including the couple's 1200-acre country estate and a posh London pub, in his deal with Madonna.

The money will be for covering their London properties - a 7million pounds family townhouse in Marylebone, a ten-bedroom, 6million pounds property next door and two mews cottages worth 2 million pounds each. All in all, the 40-year old will be entitled to a total value of 60 million pounds, which shall add to his existing 25 million pound fortune.

The couple is expected to reach a compromise regarding their 3 kids while they both claimed the other to be stingy in money matters. Previously, Guy had been reportedly infuriated with Madonna's accusations thrown at him that he refused to dig into his own pocket for anything.

A source said: "He is furious - it's the complete opposite. It's Madonna who's mean with money, even though she has ten times as much cash as Guy. She rarely dips in her pocket for anything."

Madonna is divorcing Ritchie official

The announcement of the divorce of Madonna, 50, and Ritchie, 40 comes after months of rumours that the London-based couple planned to split.

Friends said Madonna, 50, reportedly wanted to wait until next year to announce their separation after her Sticky and Sweet tour was finished.

But she and director Rtichie, 40, decided they wanted the divorce finalised before Christmas.

News of the spilt was leaked to The Sun newspaper in London yesterday.

It reported both parties had talked to divorce lawyers to ensure the break-up was as amicable as possible as far back as June.

Madonna, believed to be worth about $650 million, was said to have taken advice from Fiona Shackleton, Sir Paul McCartney's counsel in his divorce from Heather Mills.

Ritchie has been talking to a London firm Forsters, although a company representative said yesterday: "We have no involvement at the moment."

If there is no pre-nuptial pact, Ritchie stands to get up to $120 million, but friends said the couple has made the welfare of their children their three priority.

Madonna and Ritchie married in December 2000 at Skibo Castle in northeast Scotland. They met at a party hosted by ex-Police frontman Sting and his wife Trudie Styler in 1998.

Their son, Rocco, was several months old on their wedding day, and in 2006 Madonna applied to adopt David Banda, a boy from Malawi whose mother died shortly after his birth. The adoption was approved by a Malawian court in May.

Madonna also has a daughter, Lourdes, from an earlier relationship. She was married once before, to Hollywood actor Sean Penn, in the 1980s.

Madonna is one of the most successful rock stars of all time, with global album sales estimated at more than 200 million copies. A multi-Grammy award winner, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March.

Ritchie is best known for his movies Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) and Snatch (2000), but he has come in for critical maulings since then, most notably when he directed Madonna in the box-office flop Swept Away (2002).
