Lindsay Lohan booked for DUI, drug possession

It looks like Lindsay Lohan has hit a new low -- if that's possible.

The troubled starlet is in the hot seat after she was arrested on charges of drunken driving and cocaine possession Tuesday in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The actress is receiving medical care, Lohan attorney Blair Berk says, just 12 days after completing a six-week stint at Promises treatment center in Malibu. Lohan's latest arrest could put her next movie role in jeopardy, while possibly tarnishing her public image beyond repair.

"She probably will lose some of those upcoming roles," says Diana Jennings, certified image consultant and president of the Southern California Association of Image Consultants International.

"She's got to focus on what her priorities are."

Lohan, 21, was pulled over by police in the wee hours of the morning for allegedly chasing an SUV that was driven by the mother of her personal assistant, TMZ.com reports.

The assistant, who was not identified, had apparently quit her job before the chase began. Two breath-alcohol tests determined Lohan's blood-alcohol level was .12 percent and .13 percent. Lohan, who was released on $25,000 bail, was wearing a alcohol-monitoring device at the time of her arrest.

According to reports, police found cocaine in one of Lohan's pants pockets before she was booked. Berk released a statement Tuesday that said, "addiction is a terrible and vicious disease. [Lohan] is safe, out of custody and presently receiving medical care."

Lohan's publicist had no comment Tuesday.

Jennings strongly recommends that the "I Know Who Killed Me" star starts to think about how she's publicly perceived when she leaves rehab-- and possibly jail.

After all, this is her second DUI arrest in three months. She was also charged with driving with a suspended license and cocaine possession this time around.

Lohan should show up on time for work and "not be seen in environments that are going to send the message that she's back to her old ways," Jennings said.

The actress is down, but not out of the game, Jennings said.

"It may be a matter of years, but I think she can definitely turn this around," she said.

Lohan will be back in court to address the charges on Aug. 24.
