Amy Winhouse is being monitored by a doctor, the troubled singer’s dad Mitch has revealed.

According to British newspaper The Daily Star Sunday, the drugs ravaged ‘Rehab’ singer called for medical help on Thursday - after her family had been desperately pleading with her to seek help.

Winehouse, 24, is now being monitored by doctors in a bid to save her from the substances that could subsequently end her life - and are already threatening her career.

Taxi driver Mitch told how he had finally managed to persuade his troubled daughter to seek medical help - as her behavior became increasingly erratic.

Speaking on Friday last week, Mitch said: “Amy was visited by a doctor last night. And we’re seeing to it that she is monitored very carefully, every single day.

“So far we’re pleased with the way things are going. We are keeping a very close eye on her.”

Amy’s family also hope that her 6 Grammy award nominations, which she received last week, will give her a much needed confidence boost to help her get back on track & kick her vicious drug habit.

Mitch added: “We are all really pleased about the Grammy nominations, obviously. And we hope things will get better from now on.”

Mitch also revealed that his daughter needs to keep on working in order to stay on the straight and narrow, “She must keep busy,” he says.
