Alex Trebek Released From Hospital

The Jeopardy host Alex Trebek has been released from the hospital after suffering and continuing to recover from a heart attack.

Trebek is out of the hospital and plans to spend the holidays at home.

He stated on Saturday through his publicist Jeff Ritter that "I'm truly overwhelmed by the great show of support and compassion expressed in the past few days to me, my family and my co-workers. Even thouh I know Jeopardy is a very popular game, I was still surprised at the number of people who took time from their schedules to call or send a note of encouragement."

The 67-year-old Trebek was placed in the hospital last Monday after suffering from a heart attack. He was in the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Ritter stated it was a minor heart attack.

Trebek stated that he promises to return to Jeopardy on January 14th in order to tape Jeopardy's Teen Tournament.

he stated that enough episodes have been taped so that new shows will be able to keep running through the holidays until he gets back. Jeopardy has been a hit show now for over 20 years.
