Lily Allen plays Lady God-diver as she plunges topless into the sea.

Lily - looking carefree and confident - was sporting a deep tan and newly bleached blonde hair as she relaxed with friends at celeb haunt Hotel du Cap-Eden Roc on the French Riviera.

It was the first day of the Cannes International Film Festival but there was no sign of Lily's new pal Gavin and Stacey star James Corden. The pair have been flirting madly but insist they are just friends.

Smile singer Lily, 23, has had a rough time of late with a miscarriage and her break-up with boyfriend Ed Simons, of the Chemical Brothers.

She is prone to feeling down about her body image, and recently considered having liposuction.

But it looks as though Lily is shaping up nicely. And a spot of fun in the sun and topping up that all-over tan is proving just the tonic she needs to make the bad times a pale memory...
