David Archuleta's Dad Banned

Critiquing songs that were never performed, stripping scandals and now David Archuleta's father banned from American Idol, despite slipping in the rankings this season has been pretty interesting.

An anonymous source of the show told The Associated Press that Archuleta's papa got the boot from backstage after he cost Idol money due to an unauthorized lyric change last week.

TMZ, who broke the story Friday reports; that Jeff Archuleta "has been a complete pain in the ass" pissing off almost everyone on the show. The straw that broke the camel's back is when he wanted to change the lyrics of David's first song selection Stand By Me. Even though producers e-mailed him and told him he could not, David still sang the banned version live.

AI laweyers told Jeff that he was "banned from being in the rooms where David was learning or rehearsing his songs," but he is still allowed in the audience.

The only person who Jeff probably has not pissed off is Paula Abdul who thinks the lyric change and lawyers are "pheeeeeenomenal!"
