British politics was injected with a touch of glamour as a beauty queen was unveiled as the UK's latest would-be MP.
Miss Great Britain, Gemma Garrett, 26, promised to "put beauty back into politics" as she posed and pouted for the media outside the Houses of Parliament.
The pneumatic Belfast blonde, representing the newly formed Beauties for Britain party, hopes to ascend to power by winning the Crewe and Nantwich by-election which follows the death of much-loved Labour stalwart Gwyneth Dunwoody, 77, last month.
