Kym Ryder and Jack Ryder announce separation after six years

Coronation Street star Kym Ryder has announced she’s separating from husband Jack Ryder.

In a joint statement issued yesterday, the couple announced that “with great sadness”, they “have decided to separate after six years together.”

“Their separation is amicable and they remain friends, with Jack continuing to see Kym’s children, David and Emily.”

“There is no one else involved in the break up of their marriage.”

The couple first met in a BBC canteen when Jack was starring in Eastenders and Kym, then Kym Marsh, was appearing on Top of the Pops in her former band Hear’Say. They married in 2002 but are said to have had marriage problems for a while due to their individual work commitments. Jack, who left the BBC soap in 2002, is currently working in theatre while last year Kym won a British Soap Award for her portrayal of barmaid Michelle.
