They come armed with star power (however dimming), bravado and a favorite charity. They aim to put it all to work as "The Celebrity Apprentice" (9 p.m. Thursday, Channels 5, 2) premieres with its celebrity lineup of candidates.

On this new twist of the program, now in its seventh season, the 14 contenders will be competing in business-oriented tasks to raise money for their charities. The winner will earn $250,000 for his or her favorite cause.

As usual, the tasks will be judged in the boardroom by host Donald Trump and his advisers, who include his children (and colleagues) Ivanka and Donald Trump Jr., alongside veteran George Ross.

The celebrity contestants include country singer Trace Adkins, model Carol Alt, actor Stephen Baldwin, Olympic gymnast Nadia Comaneci, former Playboy Playmate of the Year Tiffany Fallon, Olympic softball player Jennie Finch, media magnate Nely Galan, actress Marilu Henner, boxer Lennox Lewis, former "Apprentice" star Omarosa, TV personality Piers Morgan, Ultimate Fighting Champion Tito Ortiz, actor Vincent Pastore, and rock star Gene Simmons of Kiss.
