Britney Spears Denies Pregnancy Rumors After Seacrest Stumble

jueves, 30 de abril de 2009 |

Britney Spears has angrily denied rumors about a third pregnancy, after Ryan Seacrest announced that he had heard the singer was expecting on his popular radio show.

The ‘Circus’ star already has two children from her previous marriage to backup dancer Kevin Federline, Sean Preston, and Jayden James. Both boys currently live with their father.

The allegations brought anger from Britney’s camp, and her spokesperson said it was absolutely untrue.

“She’s absolutely not pregnant. I have no idea where this ridiculous rumor came from,” he said in an interview with Perez Hilton.

“Ryan has communication with our camp and could have checked this before saying it.”

This is one of many pregnancy rumors that have followed the pop princess in recent years. Given how eager she was to report her past two, it is doubtful that she would keep a third under wraps.

Britney Spears begging for dad distance?

miércoles, 22 de abril de 2009 |

Britney Spears is "crying out for help".

The 'Circus' singer is desperately trying to escape from her controlling father, her former attorney's lawyer told a Los Angeles court yesterday (21.04.09).

Jamie Spears - who took legal control of his troubled daughter's personal and professional affairs last year - is trying to obtain permanent restraining orders against the singer's former manager Sam Lutfi, attorney Jon Eardley and lover Adnan Ghalib.

Eardley's lawyer Roger Diamond wants Britney to testify in court because he believes she is being held prisoner by her father.

He said: "Britney Spears is crying out for help".

The 27-year-old singer's legal team refutes the claims, calling the men "predators" who have "patently threatened and continually harassed" Britney.

The temporary restraining orders against all three men were extended until April 28, when the judge will hear rebuttal arguments before making a final decision.

Britney is currently performing in 'The Circus Starring Britney Spears', her first concert tour in five years.

While Ashley Tisdale seems to be spending a lot of time lately with music-video director Scott Speer, it might be a little premature to call them a couple.

"They've been enjoying hanging out together," a friend of the pair tells People. "Ashley's just easing back into the dating world."

The 23-year-old Tisdale was recently photographed with Speer at Los Angeles International Airport, where she was holding a large bouquet of flowers as her companion pushed a luggage cart. However, Tisdale quickly dismissed rumors that the pair were an item.

"I'm not in a relationship. I'm single," she told E!

"He's a really hot, good friend of mine," added the "High School Musical" star.

Tisdale is fresh off a recent breakup with dancer Jared Murillo, whom she had dated since 2007, so it's understandable if she's not ready to jump back into the dating scene. But Tisdale and Speer also have a relationship that dates back to 2007, which is when they first worked together professionally. The pair also teamed up again recently as Speer directed the just-released video for Tisdale's new single "It's Alright, It's OK."

Whether that has spilled over into a romance remains to be seen, but Tisdale does admit to E! that they make for a perfect duo on the video front.

"We have a really good, creative relationship," she said.

Jennifer Aniston's rumoured new love interest Gerard Butler could yet turn out to be a John Mayer-sized “player,” according to insiders.

As we reported previously, the Marley & Me star is said to have rebounded from her singer-songwriter beau into the arms of the Scottish hunk, after sharing a special connection with him at last year's Toronto film festival.

But whilst Jen is described as “smitten” and keen for a serious romance, Gerard is apparently less committed to their fledgling relationship.

“He’s very excited to see her again and wants to hook up with her again and hang out. [But] he’s a total player,” says a source.

The hits easily surpassed the 18.5million that Obama racked up during his January inauguration ceremony.

Fergie failed to dispel rumours she's thinning on top while filming a video for her new clothing line in Malibu at the weekend.

There was no missing the newlywed singer's scalp exposure as she posed on Malibu Pier before production moved on to the beach.

Her thinning hair has prompted gossip that her newly-brunette barnet could be feeling the strain of frequent dye jobs and/or extensions.

Aside from genetics, stress and extreme dieting can also be a factor in female hair loss.

Gaping centre parting notwithstanding, Fergie looked stunning in a simple outfit of jeans and black top.

Father denies Slumdog child sale

|

The father of a Slumdog Millionaire child actress has denied trying to sell her in what he called a "dirty" undercover operation by a UK newspaper.

Rafiq Qureshi said he had not accepted a deal to sell nine-year-old Rubina Ali into adoption.

The News of the World said Mr Qureshi had demanded £200,000 from its reporters, who were posing as a wealthy family from Dubai looking to adopt.

Mr Qureshi told the BBC the media had "made fun of our poverty".

"They tricked us into this fakery but we came out unscathed," said Rubina's father, who is a carpenter in Mumbai (Bombay).

Rubina portrays the youngest version of the leading lady Latika in the Oscar-laden film.

'Great temptation'

The News of the World said one of its staff had contacted Mr Qureshi and told him he was acting for a wealthy Arab sheikh who wanted to adopt Rubina and take her to live in Dubai.

It said Mr Qureshi's brother-in-law, Rajan More, who speaks better English, had talked of "around £50,000" in compensation.

The paper said that in a later meeting Mr Qureshi tried to increase this to £200,000 ($292,000).

It said Mr Qureshi was unhappy with the money received from the film and wanted an escape route out of the slums.

The newspaper published photographs of Rubina and her father in a meeting with its reporters.

Mr Qureshi agreed to speak to the BBC News website on Monday.

In a lengthy interview, he said he had been trapped into a situation of "great temptation" but he firmly denied accepting any deal to sell his daughter or agree for her to be adopted.

by the BBC, phone calls were made requesting a meeting with Rubina and her father, and the two parties met three times from Thursday to Saturday.

Mr Qureshi said: "In the phone calls they said a wealthy Arab couple had been moved to see the plight of Rubina on al-Jazeera TV. The sheikh and his wife were very upset to see their plight and decided to help them out. And then we agreed to meet them."

Mr Qureshi said he had met two men and a "memsaab", a term often used by the poor in India for a white woman.

They had three meetings, two in hotels in Mumbai and the middle one on the reporters' visit to the family's hut in the Bandra slums. The last meeting happened on Saturday afternoon.

Mr Qureshi said it was during this last meeting that he was asked to talk to someone on the phone, who thanked him for letting Rubina be adopted.

"They made a call to someone, introducing him as the memsaab's husband, the sheikh saab, and asked me to talk to him. In broken Hindi he thanked me for letting Rubina come to Dubai to live.

"It was then it occurred to me they were making a deal on my child. I put the phone down and told them we were leaving the hotel."

'Self respect'

But the family did stay to have tea. Mr Qureshi said: "At this time they went to the memsaab and came back to us with an offer of 500,000 rupees as an advance. We refused, but they kept saying if we accepted the offer the money can be arranged in five minutes."

Mr Qureshi said the family went back home after this and "when I woke up on Sunday morning the story on me was on all the TV channels".

He said he was shocked to see the three people were actually reporters.

"I switched off my mobile phone because I knew there will be calls from the media and I didn't have any faith in the media after what I went through on the weekend.

"They played dirty with us, but we didn't accept any money from them. My daughter is not for sale."

Dinesh, a middleman present at the meetings, said he had spoken to people who transpired to be undercover reporters because of Mr Qureshi's lack of English.

He denied any deal was cut to sell Rubina and also rejected accusations that he tried to convince Rubina's father to accept the deal.

He feared the story would bring a bad name to Rubina's family.

Mr Qureshi's neighbours were surprised at the media claims.

One, Mohammed Shakeel, was outraged: "We know how much he loves his daughter. We may be poor but we have a lot of self-respect. We don't sell our children no matter how big the lure is."

Priti Patkar, a director of Prerna, an NGO for child welfare, said: "Talking to Rubina was unethical on the part of the media.

"Local police and child welfare committees should immediately look into the matter and take appropriate action against whoever is guilty."

Delhi-based Save the Children official, Shireen Miller, said that child abuse and exploitation was a "major issue in this part of the country and there needs to be strict laws to protect such families from agents and middlemen".

Amy Winehouse has shocked sunbathers on the island of St Lucia after branding wounds down her leg like something out of a warzone.

The char-grilled singer made no attempt to cover the eye-watering pink and white fleshy wounds as she revealed her singed limb in her hot pants under the blazing Caribbean sunshine.

A string of reports claimed the volatile star had a torrid mishap with a cigarette but friends of the star say her raw melted skin was the result of a cooking disaster.

It seems the singer, 25, has been rustling up her own supper despite staying in a plush private villa in the resort.

Winehouse was said to be making some home made pasta to bolster her new size 10 frame when she suddenly found herself in hell's kitchen.

'Amy was making herself a bowl of pasta when the pot felt over and she was scolded by boiling water' her friend told Metro.

And castmate Alex seconds this.

"The first time I met him, I was like, 'Dude, you smell fantastic!' I don't know where people get this stuff from."

Probably from people like the fan who spotted a dishevelled Rob at Los Angeles airport on Monday: "I was so disappointed. Rob's hair was a mess, he was so skinny and he was chewing his fingernails."

Susan Boyle debut song uncovered

|

An early recording of Britain's Got Talent contestant Susan Boyle singing Cry Me a River for charity has emerged on the internet.

Her version of ballad Cry Me A River was included on the Music for a Millennium Celebration disc in 1999.

Just 1,000 copies of the CD were funded by Whitburn Community Council.

Ms Boyle, from Blackburn in West Lothian, has become a worldwide sensation after her voice stunned judges on the TV talent show.

Reduced to tears

Around 20,000 people have already viewed the early recording on YouTube.

So far over 19 million have watched her rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables, on Saturday's show.

Actress Demi Moore said she was reduced to tears by the performance after watching it with husband Ashton Kutcher.

The story of the unemployed church volunteer has made headlines around the world, and she has featured on major news programmes in the US.

It has been reported that she has been asked to appear as a guest on Oprah Winfrey's talk show.

West Lothian Council featured a clip of the song - thought to be her only previous recording - on its website.

'Absolutely thrilled'

The council has been inundated with messages of support for Ms Boyle, whose odds of winning Britain's Got Talent have been slashed by bookmakers.

A Ladbrokes spokesman said they are offering the "shortest odds we've ever offered at this early stage in the show".

Council leader Peter Johnston said local people were "absolutely thrilled" for Ms Boyle. He added: "Her voice is simply magic."

Speaking from her home, Ms Boyle said: "I just take it all in my stride, I'm enjoying it. I haven't had time to think."

Asked what it meant to her to get such support from Moore and Kutcher, Ms Boyle said: "That's overwhelming. That's something else."

Questioned about her chances of winning, she replied: "I can only do my best, like everybody else."

But judge Simon Cowell has said she has not won the competition yet.

Speaking on GMTV on Friday, he said: "There are some acts that you haven't seen yet, it's not quite the one horse race you are going to think this is."

The prize for winning the show is a chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.

Teenage dancer George Sampson won last year.

And whilst Rob attracted criticism for smoking in his GQ pictures, Zac is content to chew on a tooth pick.
The 17 Again star addresses his pretty-boy image in the accompanying interview, specifically the rumours that he wears false eyelashes.

"If somebody can find any photo that shows me wearing false eyelashes, I will give them a f***ing million dollars. That's bulls***," says the 21-year-old.

He does, however, admit to wearing make-up to "cover [his] zits".

Jack Tweed jailed

|

Jack Tweed has been jailed for 12 weeks for assaulting a taxi driver.

Jade Goody's grieving widower was sentenced this morning (14.04.09) at Harlow Magistrates court in Essex, where he was told he will serve half his sentence in jail before being released on licence.

Passing the sentence - the second assault charge Jack has been found guilty of in six months - Chairwoman of the magistrates, Margaret Webb, said: "We have borne in mind the recent change in your personal circumstances and have reflected this in the length of the sentence, which would otherwise have been 18 weeks."

Jack's sentencing for the assault on driver Stephen Wilkins after a night out in Epping, Essex, in May 2008 had already been moved so he could attend the funeral of his wife, who died of cancer in March, and was buried on April 4.

Jack, 21, had earlier been found guilty at Epping Magistrates court on March 3, shortly before his wife's passing. He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £455 and £200 to his victim.

Jack's lawyer, Tania Panagiotopoulou, told the court today: "Mr Tweed is 21. He was 20 at the time of this offence that took place 11 months ago. There has been no re-offending since that date

"He has had to mature, and mature very quickly, in the last few months.

"To say that he is a changed man since May 2008 is perhaps an understatement. He has endured with dignity and maturity very difficult personal circumstances that have been well documented."

Jack was also jailed in September 2008 for an assault on a 16-year-old with a golf club. He was released in January subject to a curfew, which stated he had to be at his mother's house in Essex between 7pm and 7am every day.

The couple, who were married in June 1980, have seven children together but only one is under 18.

Details of how the couple's assets will be divided were not revealed in the papers filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Mrs Gibson is also seeking jewellery, earnings and assets she accrued after the couple separated and wants her husband to make support payments and to meet her lawyer's costs.

Lindsay Lohan needs help

|

Lindsay Lohan needs "psychiatric help", say her friends.

The 'Mean Girls' actress has been left devastated by her split from DJ Samantha Ronson and pals fears she is on the brink of a breakdown.

A source said: "Lindsay is on hiatus with her publicist because she's not working or booking jobs. She is completely unmanageable.

"Lindsay needs to get psychiatric help. Her friends are really sad for her, but she's out of control, and now she's all alone."

Lindsay, who says she is in "hell" without Samantha, is struggling to cope with the break-up and friends have blamed her mother Dina Lohan for not offering the 22-year-old star enough support.

The source added: "Dina is begging Lindsay's friends to go there and help her. All of Lindsay's life, Dina never acted like a role model. She only ever wanted to be her friend. Lindsay keeps getting used."

Following their split last week, Samantha changed the locks on the Hollywood Hills home she shared with Lindsay and was even said to be seeking a restraining order against her, although she has denied the claims.

Lindsay has insisted the year-long romance is not over, claiming the pair are just "on a break".

No more drama: That is Samantha Ronson's philosophy, according to sources close to the celebrity deejay, who recently spilt from girlfriend Lindsay Lohan.

"Lindsay is extremely protective and jealous and needs an enormous amount of attention, and it's stressful for the world to be watching them," a source close to the Ronson family tells PEOPLE. In terms of the high-profile breakup, "[Samantha] takes it pretty good – she acts tougher than she is. She just wants the drama to end."

Though Ronson's family is hoping this latest split will be for good, the pair's close social circle makes the separation that much more difficult, says the source. "Both Samantha and Lindsay could use a break and since there is so much crossover with their friends, it's been hard. Their lives are so intertwined."

Lohan's Personality Sparks Concern
As for the Ronson family's inquiries into obtaining a restraining order – which did not involve Samantha herself – the family source says they are worried about Lohan's fiery personality. "They wanted to know what their options were if she does something crazy," says the source. "Lindsay can be a loose cannon."

Still, another source close to Ronson says that the deejay is protective of Lohan and doesn't want to jump on "the anti-Lindsay bandwagon."

"Sam broke up with Lindsay, but it doesn't mean she hates her or wants to see her hurt any worse than she is," says the source. "She is over Lindsay and over all the drama, but still, she refuses to trash-talk her. She just wants to walk away gracefully."

As for Lohan, she has been spending time with family and friends. On Thursday night she was spotted at Chateau Marmont in Hollywood where she sipped on water and appeared in high spirits, smiling and laughing with a large group of pals.

Britney Spears Walks Off Stage During Concert

jueves, 9 de abril de 2009 |

The show didn't go on in Vancouver Wednesday night after Britney Spears pulled the plug on her sold-out Circus concert 15 minutes and three songs into her performance – departing the stage and leaving the audience in the GM Place in the dark for more than half an hour. Boos ensued.

Cigarette smoke from the crowd was blamed, with a female voice announcing to the crowd, "The building is awfully smoky. It is uncomfortable for everyone on stage, including Ms. Spears. Please extinguish all cigarettes – this is a non-smoking building, and the show will resume when the smoke on the stage is cleared," the Vancouver Sun reports.

Until the agitated crowd settled down, GM Place was filled with piped-in intermission music played at hockey games – which, one concertgoer told PEOPLE, left the fans "really pissed off. The break in the concert ruined it for everyone. The vibe was gone."

When she did return, Spears, 27, delivered a well-received Bollywood take on "Me Against the Music," followed by "Everytime" – during which she asked the crowd "What's up, Vancouver?" before she again left the stage, some 90 seconds before the end of the song.

The concert concluded with Spears singing "Womanizer" and advising the still-restless crowd, "Vancouver, don't smoke weed." Her sign-off was also peppered with a couple of X-rated expletives and a warning to "drive safe."

After the show, a statement was posted on the singer's Web site: "We want to apologize to all the fans who attended our Vancouver show tonight for the brief pause in Britney's set. Crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue."

Spears kicked off her Circus tour of the North America and England in New Orleans on March 3. Her father and attorneys are exploring the possibility of expanding the tour, says AP.

Don't cry, Madonna, says Guy Ritchie

|

Thesun.co.uk reports that the two had got divorced in January and the singer cited his "unreasonable behaviour" behind their break up. But the two have been able to talk again when she broke down while talking to her son Rocco on the phone.

"Civil conversations between them have been few and far between in the past year. But over the last week things have improved. Guy had Rocco over for a visit when Em (Madonna) called to see if he was okay, as she always does when she is away from the kids. Rocco was speaking to her and suddenly turned to Guy and said, 'Daddy, daddy. mummy is crying'. He then handed Guy the phone," said a source close to them.

"It's unusual for Em to turn on the waterworks, but this has really upset her. Explaining to Rocco why Mercy wasn't coming home has been difficult. Guy was incredibly sympathetic, calmed her down and told her to be happy with the family she had," added the source.

Lindsay Lohan in 'restraining order' drama

martes, 7 de abril de 2009 |

Lindsay Lohan's split from girlfriend Samantha Ronson just turned nasty amid speculation the DJ's family are trying to take a restraining order out against the actress.

Beverly Hills police reportedly say the DJ's mum and sister popped into see how they could take out a restraining order just three days after it was claimed Ronson had Lindsay barred from her little sister Charlotte's party at Bar Marmont in West Hollywood.

'They were directed to the court to get a restraining order,' Beverly Hills Sgt. Nutall told US press.

The family's run to authorities came after Lohan admitted she and her girlfriend were done... well, for now at least.

She told E! news: 'We are taking a brief break so I can focus on myself.'

Her confession came as Ronson changed her MySpace relationship status to 'single'.

The split comes follows the lovers latest spat public on Twitter over the weekend, reportedly slinging allegations of 'cheating' and 'drug taking'.

But friends of Ronson, 31, are determined for her to stay away from Lilo, 22, for good this time.

A friend of the couple claimed: 'Sam's family has made her swear that it's really over.'

'They are giving her all the support they can to keep her away from Lindsay.'

Another friend of Ronson's said: 'Lindsay is going to try and twist the situation in her favor, but Sam clearly left her, not the other way around.'

Madonna's adoption hopes boost

|

Mercy's uncle Peter Baneti said he would fight custody attempts by James Kambewa, 24, who claims to be the three-year-old's dad, reported thesun.com.

Peter said: "This man didn't care about his girlfriend, Mercy's mother, when she needed him most. He didn't even come to see his baby."

High court Judge Esimie Chombo had rejected Madonna's adoption plea as under the law prospective parents must be residents of Malawi for 18 to 24 months before adoption.

Lindsay Lohan Crashes Lily Allen's Womanizer Cover

viernes, 3 de abril de 2009 |

The audience at Lily Allen's Hollywood show last night were treated to the bizarre sight of Lindsay Lohan stumbling on stage during the singer's rendition of Britney Spears' Womanizer.

The Smile star had almost finished the song when the actress appeared seemingly from nowhere, gave Lily a hug, sang a couple of words into her microphone and then threw some awkward dance moves.

It's not known whether the pair – who hooked up when Lily was in the US last year – had planned their nano-duet but Lily appeared to largely ignore her friend, leaving Lindsay to hang around sheepishly at the back of the stage for a few seconds before disappearing off from wence she came.

Malawi court rejects Madonna adoption request

|

In a surprise move, a judge on Friday rejected Madonna's request to adopt a second child from Malawi and said it would set a dangerous precedent to bend rules requiring that prospective parents live here for some period.

The country's child welfare minister had come out Thursday in support of the pop superstar's application to adopt 3-year-old Chifundo "Mercy" James.

But in a lengthy ruling Friday, Judge Esme Chombo sided with critics who have said exceptions should not be made for the star who has set up a major development project for this impoverished, AIDS-stricken southern African country.

Madonna can appeal Friday's decision to Malawi's Supreme Court. There was no immediate comment from Madonna or her spokeswoman in New York.

Chombo said other foreigners had adopted children from Malawi, but the only case in which residency rules had been waived was to allow Madonna to take David Banda out of the country in 2006 before that adoption was finalized in 2008.

"It is necessary that we look beyond the petitioner ... and consider the consequences of opening the doors too wide," the judge said. "By removing the very safeguard that is supposed to protect our children, the courts ... could actually facilitate trafficking of children by some unscrupulous individuals."

The judge made clear she was not questioning Madonna's intentions, and even praised the "noble" work Madonna's charity has done to feed, educate and provide medical care for some of the more than 1 million orphans in this impoverished, AIDS-stricken country.

The judge said it was "my prayer" that the girl whom Madonna wants to adopt would benefit from such programs but said Mercy was now receiving "suitable" care in an orphanage.

Chombo said that contrasted with David's situation in 2006, when an orphanage was preparing to return the boy to his father, who had said he was struggling to care for him.

Madonna's efforts to adopt had drawn criticism from some activists, who said the little girl would be best off with relatives. Other residents credited her with giving the girl opportunities not widely available in the impoverished nation.

In court papers made public Friday, Madonna said Chifundo's grandmother was unable to care for her.

"I am able and willing to securely provide for Chifundo James and make her a permanent and established member of my family," Madonna said in the affidavit. "To deny Chifundo James the opportunity to be adopted by me could expose her to hardship and emotional trauma which is otherwise avoidable."

The girl's mother, according to the affidavit, died at age 14 not long after her baby was born Jan. 22, 2006. There was no mention of the father in the affidavit. The mother's brother is listed as having consented to the adoption.

Malawi's child welfare minister had endorsed Madonna's adoption application.

"We have close to 2 million orphans in Malawi who need help," Women and Child Welfare Development Minister Anna Kachikho told The Associated Press. "We can't look after all of them as a country. If people like Madonna adopt even one such orphan, it's one mouth less we have to feed."

Orphans usually are taken in by their extended families in Africa, but AIDS and other diseases have taken a toll on those who might have traditionally provided support. In villages across the continent, frail elderly grandmothers do their best to care for children, but many end up in orphanages or on the streets.

Malawi, with a population of 12 million, is among the poorest countries in the world, with rampant disease and hunger, aggravated by periodic droughts and crop failure.

The U.N. says 1 million Malawian children have lost one or both parents, about half of them to AIDS, and estimates 18 million African children will have lost a parent to AIDS by 2010.

But critics accused Madonna of using her fame and money to fast-track the adoption process, but the singer said she had followed standard procedures. She faced similar allegations in 2006 when she brought home David, who is now 3.

A coalition of non-governmental organizations called the Human Rights Consultative Committee had criticized Madonna's adoption attempts, saying that adoption should be the last resort and that children need to be taken care of by their own family.

"Mercy James is a child who has her extended close family members alive and we urge Madonna to assist the child from right here," the coalition said earlier this week.

Madonna first traveled to Malawi in 2006 while filming a documentary on the devastating poverty and AIDS crisis. On this trip, she has been accompanied by her three children: 3-year-old David, 12-year-old daughter Lourdes and 8-year-old son Rocco.

The four have visited an orphanage where David once lived and David also saw his biological father for the first time since he left Malawi in 2006.

Madonna and Lourdes also visited a village in Malawi this week and looked over plans to build a new school there. The singer has several charity projects in Malawi.

A "tweet" may have saved a Demi Moore fan's life, CNN reported today. The actress, whose Twitter blog has some 380,000 fans, received an online threat from a woman who said she was "getting a knife, a big one that is sharp.

Going to cut my arm down the whole arm so it doesn't waste time." Moore responded to the grim statement with the comment "Hope you are joking." The unnamed 48-year-old woman's suicide threat was traced to a San Jose, Calif., home, where she was taken into custody for a 72-hour psychiatric evaluation. Moore, who was in southern France where husband Ashton Kutcher is shooting the crime drama Five Killers, later informed her Twitter followers that the San Jose police were in control of the situation, and that she was "very torn about responding or retweeting that woman's post but felt uncomfortable just letting it go."

|

Amy Winehouse has jetted back to St Lucia.

The Rehab singer, who recently spent more than two months holidaying on the Caribbean island, has said she'd like to splash out on a holiday home there, reports The Sun.

Amy has previously been quoted as saying she could see herself setting up camp on the picturesque isle.

Miley Cyrus has the best of both worlds: The singer/actress is set to hit the big screen with her new Hannah Montana movie and is getting ready to perform at Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards.

But as much as Cyrus loves to sing, she says she's psyched about pursuing her film career right now. "I think after people see the movie, they'll see it's really what I love," she says. "It's my main passion."

In fact, Cyrus, 16, has already lined up her next project in Hollywood. "Right now I'm working on a movie with Nicholas Sparks, which is what I want to continue to do ... to do drama," explains Cyrus. The project, The Last Song – penned by The Notebook author – is a drama about a rebellious young woman spending the summer with her estranged Dad.

Although she's ready to focus on expanding her career, Cyrus calls the big screen version of Hannah Montana "a good first step" to her goal of being taken really seriously as an actress. "It's allowing the fans to continue to stay with me and not go too far to soon, but also be able to do something that I really love, and that's film."

Cyrus admits that the transition from being a 'tween Disney star to a teen movie actress can be a challenge. "Growing up is important, and I've got to do that gracefully, but also keep myself at a good pace," she tells PEOPLE.

Alas, her hectic schedule means she won't be able to let loose after this weekend's award ceremony in Las Vegas. "I gotta work!" she says. "I'm only there for three hours! I perform and I leave, so no time to party for me!"

Is Britney Spears dating her agent?

jueves, 2 de abril de 2009 |

After dating her manager, a dancer, a paparazzi and a bodyguard, Britney Spears has now turned her attentions to her agent Jason Trawick.

Things seem to be hotting up between the pair who were linked back in May last year after they were snapped holidaying together at Mel Gibson's £12million ranch in Costa Rica.

They are now rumoured to be officially dating with Britney's dad Jamie giving the blossoming romance his blessing.

A source told The Sun: "Britney and Jason are an item. They are trying to keep it quiet in Hollywood because it's not a good reputation for an agent to have."

Trawick is an agent with the powerful William Morris talent agency that looks after the star and helped her get back on the road to recovery.

"Jamie really likes Jason. He has done everything he can to get them together."

"Jamie controls exactly who is around Britney and has allowed Jason one hundred per cent access to Britney at all times, whenever he wants he can see her."

"Within their circle Jason and Britney are quite open and kiss and cuddle in front of people they trust."

After her split with Kevin Federline in 2006, Britney started to date snapper Adnan Ghalib before having a fling with ex-manager Sam Lutfi.

She also enjoyed a brief romance with one of her bodyguards Lee.

Miley Cyrus Hacker Still At It

|

One might think if the FBI caught a guy who hacked into Miley Cyrus' email account and sent out racy pictures of her, they'd arrest him, or at least keep track of his whereabouts.

One might think that, but one would be wrong: EOnline.com reports that Josh Holly, the 19-year-old who bragged about hacking into Miley's personal business, is a free man, although still a "person of interest." The FBI apparently has no idea where Holly is right now.

A judge ordered an investigation into evidence seized by the FBI from Holly's Tennessee home, and they're still looking into it.

"We're still working on it," Special Agent Scott Augenbaum told E! News. "He hasn't been arrested."

Holly recently bragged to Wired.com regarding how he's still spamming celebs' accounts on MySpace, and making around $110,000 at it. His victims include Chris Brown, Rihanna, Linkin Park, Fall Out Boy and various others.

The schemer told Wired blog "Threat Level" that he sent mass emails from the celebrities' accounts, "telling fans that the band would call their phone and send them a ring tone if they clicked on a link and entered their details." He then made between $5 to $12 off each person.

"Once I go to court I can't say 'not guilty'. There's no way I can get out of this at all," he told Threat Level. "Not even O.J.'s lawyers or Michael Jackson's lawyers can get me out of this. To be blunt, I was an idiot and I didn't delete any of my [hard drives]. I never thought they would raid me. They're going to get full proof evidence of everything that I've said I've done."

Brad Pitt has demanded Angelina Jolie marry him. The 45-year-old actor, who has been dating Angelina since 2005 and is raising six children with her, has reportedly told twice-divorced Angelina he will not have any more children with her unless she agrees to tie the knot. A source told America’s 'OK!' magazine: “Brad’s told her, ‘Marry me, or it’s over’.

He definitely wants to get married before they have any more babies.” Brad, who was previously married to Jennifer Aniston, is said to be feeling increasingly frustrated with the lack of time he is spending with Angelina (33). He is currently staying in New York with the children to be closer to Angelina, who is filming new spy movie ‘Salt’ in the city.

Malawi backs Madonna adoption bid

|

An official of the Malawian government has backed Madonna's bid to adopt a second child from the African country.

The singer is due to return to court on Friday to learn if she can adopt four-year-old Chifundo James.

"Madonna has been good to us," Information Minister Patricia Kaliati told news agency Reuters.

"Very few rich and famous people can take time to fly all the way to Malawi to support our children. We support her adoption process."

"[Madonna] is supporting over 25,000 orphans in this country and she has proved that she can take care of David," she added.

Madonna has said it is "amazing" to be back in the country where she adopted David Banda in 2006.

'Family environment'

Chifundo, the girl at the centre of the case, whose name translates into English as Mercy, is in the same orphanage that was previously home to David, who is now three years old.

She has been living in an orphanage since her 18-year-old mother died shortly after giving birth.

Earlier this week, Madonna attended an hour-long hearing in Lilongwe to ask for permission to take Chifundo out of the country. She is seeking an 18-month interim adoption order.
