A number of A-listers including US president Barack Obama and Britney Spears are employing staff to update their microblogs on the social messaging website, reports The Telegraph.

Singer Spears - one of Twitter's most popular subscribers – had recently posted an advert for an assistant whose duties would include managing her official Twitter and Facebook accounts.

And Mr. Obama is not far behind. He has employed the services of a dedicated "social networking team" to create content for his online activities.

Paris Hilton ‘desperate’ to win back Madden

The stunner - who parted ways with the Good Charlotte rocker last November - has gone green with envy after seeing snaps of Benji spending Valentine’s Day with singer Katy Perry, reports the China Daily.

A source said: "Paris still has very strong feelings for Madden and seeing those pictures has really hurt her - especially as they were taken so close to her birthday.

Paris Hilton Insists She's Not Stupid

Paris Hilton says she sometimes acts dumb on television to get laughs, but in real life she's "a strong person" who's been through a lot.

Appearing on the British morning show GMTV to launch her new reality show Paris Hilton's British Best Friend, Hilton, 27, said she cultivated her dumb blonde image for her hit FOX reality show The Simple Life, costarring Nicole Richie, and it became her schtick.

"For five seasons I was stuck doing this character," she says. "It was kind of hard always having to play that character when it's not who I am."

She adds, "I just say jokes but they think I'm serious, which I think is funny, and I think I kind of play up the image sometimes because – whatever – it's just entertainment."

"It's difficult because you never know what people's intentions are, and I think a lot of girls have become my friend for the wrong reasons and used me," Hilton says. "I didn't realize it but now, throughout the years, I'm realizing who those kind of people are."

Paris Hilton caught gate-crashing at a party

After she made her way into the party, CAA’s Kevin Huvane loudly demanded that she be shown the way out, as she was not invited. “Kevin was outraged at her sense of entitlement, and he was adamant that she be removed,” the New York Daily News quoted a source, as saying.

Paris Hilton's website hacked?

They have infected her website ParisHilton.com with a parasite virus which steals personal details from subscribers’ computers.

Thousands of her fans have been hit by the virus, and has spread to up to 15,000 other websites.

The virus, discovered by computer safety consultant ScanSafe, prompts fans to update their systems then downloads to their system.

With the help of the virus, thieves can extract personal details such as bank information from a home computer or sensitive corporate material from a company network.

"Internet users should be especially cautious. Sites such as ParisHilton.com are extremely attractive targets for online criminals," the Mirror quoted ScanSafe researcher Mary Landesman as saying.

In Touch reported that the Womanizer songstress was getting close with Paris Hilton's ex, but her publicist Holly Shakoor denies the story.

Thief steals Paris Hilton jewels

A burglar broke into the Los Angeles home of socialite Paris Hilton and stole jewellery worth about $2m (£1.3m), US police say.

The break-in occurred in the early hours of Friday morning at Ms Hilton's home in the Sherman Oaks area of LA.

Police said a man wearing a hooded top and gloves broke in through the home's front door, ransacked Ms Hilton's bedroom and stole her belongings.

Ms Hilton, 27, was not at home at the time of the incident.

Paris Hilton is a member of the family that founded the Hilton Hotel chain, and is a fixture of the Hollywood social scene.

She starred in reality television show "The Simple Life" and has pursued a career as an actress and singer.

Paris Hilton continues online presidential campaign

Watch out world: Paris Hilton is continuing her bid for the White House.

The paparazzi darling and reality TV star touted her candidacy in a video on FunnyOrDie.com Wednesday — her second appearance in a political spoof on the site.

"Running for fake president is a little daunting," a heavily made-up Hilton tells Martin Sheen, whom she calls "one of our greatest fake presidents."

"Being a fake president is a lot harder today than it was when I was a fake president," says Sheen, who has often played American presidents, most notably on TV's "The West Wing."

Hilton talks with Sheen about "Fo Po" — "Foreign policy, silly" — and shares what could be her real views on the economy and the war in Iraq.

"Iraq has a Democratic government that is asking for us to leave," she says. "It seems that we've done our job and we should bring our troops home safely."

Economically, "this is the biggest depression since `The Notebook,'" Hilton says, adding that the government should "lower inflated interest rates so it's not impossible for (people) to pay their mortgage."

As Sheen tells Hilton she's "going to make a great fake president," his son, Charlie Sheen, pops in with a promise to "fake vote" for her.

Hilton bids the elder Sheen farewell with a kitten-voiced, "Bye, sexy," then tells the camera: "See you at the fake inauguration."

The 27-year-old heiress said in a statement that she hopes the video inspires people to consider the issues and vote in the real presidential election.

"I hope that my political opponents take in consideration the points that I have addressed because I feel that they are important and, as well as, that my generation and the new young voters should become more involved with our current issues and speak their voice through voting," Hilton said. Paris Hilton takes reality show to Britain

Socialite Paris Hilton, who is hunting for a best friend through her reality show, now takes it to Britain.

Contactmusic.com reports that her new show is tentatively titled Paris Hilton New Best Friend in which female contestants compete to become Hilton's best friend. Hilton has already finished filming the US version of her show and now British TV bosses have coughed up $1 million to have the show in Britain.

A source said: "Hilton is great on TV and bosses over here have been keen to snap her up for ages. Fronting her own show in Britain for the first time is a big risk, but producers are confident they have a ratings hit. They are shelling out a fortune not just on Hilton but also on production costs."

Filming will take place soon and the show will be broadcast on the British channel ITV2.
