A former beauty queen who was stripped of her Miss Nevada title when inappropriate photos of her appeared online, is back in the news. Katie Rees, who made headlines last month when she was arrested, has escaped the charge of resisting arrest by agreeing to pay her traffic violations.
Rees, the former 2006 Miss Nevada, was arrested in Las Vegas in February after allegedly kicking a police officer when he attempted to take her into custody after he pulled her over for speeding.
Rees was booked on charges of driving with no proof of insurance, driving with suspended license plates, speeding and resisting a police officer. The beauty queen reportedly chipped a tooth during the arrest altercation.
On Wednesday, prosecutors agreed to drop the resisting arrest charge in return for Rees pleading no contest to the traffic offenses and paying the fines of $1,312.
