Chris Brown and Rihanna not recorded a duet

Chris Brown and Rihanna have not recorded a duet.

The couple - who have reconciled after Chris allegedly assaulted Rihanna in his rented Lamborghini car last month - were said to be working on a track for the 'Run It' singer's forthcoming album but record company sources insist they have not been in the studio together.

A source said: "Contrary to published reports, Chris Brown and Rihanna did not record a duet after the incident. Nothing has been recorded by Chris and Rihanna together since February."

It is believed the duet speculation comes as the result of a song called 'Bad Girl' which 19-year-old Chris was working on with Polow Da Don and enlisted his girlfriend to sing reference vocals - a guide for the artist who will eventually record the song - on the demo.

The source added to People magazine: "Around August or September of 2008, Chris and Rihanna's vocals were recorded as the reference vocals for this demo only. But the song was never conceived or intended to be a duet between them, and was later recorded by other artists."

'Bad Girl' was eventually recorded by Pussycat Dolls for the 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' soundtrack.

Last week, Chris was charged with two felonies - assault and making criminal threats - in relation to the alleged attack on Rihanna.

He is yet to enter a plea, but if convicted he faces a maximum of four years eight months in prison.
