Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts splits from boyfriend after “explosive rows”

Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts has reportedly broken up with boyfriend of a year Carl Davies.

A source told the News of the World: “It’s all very upsetting for poor Nicola but she’d be the first to admit things haven’t been great between her and Carl for a while.

"There have been lots of tearful late-night phone calls and now she's decided to call time on it all. The strain of touring has taken its toll and Nicola's made up her mind it's over."

Carl is said to have repeatedly got annoyed over fans asking Nicola for photos or autographs while they were out and urged her to quit the band so she would be out of the public eye.

However, in an interview last year, she make her thoughts on the matter very clear, saying: "Girls Aloud is my life. It’s all I’ve known so I could never leave the band for a man.”
