A passenger in a car that was chased by Lindsay Lohan through the streets of Santa Monica is suing the actress, saying the incident left her traumatised and unable to work.
In the early morning incident, Lohan raced her huge SUV after a car being driven by the mother of her former assistant.
Terrified that they were being carjacked, the passenger, Tracie Rice, called the police and drove to the nearest police station.
The Mean Girls star followed and was stopped and arrested for drink-driving and cocaine possession.
Ms Rice is seeking $US7000 ($7945) to cover medical expenses for post- trauma therapy and an unspecified amount in damages for her suffering as well as loss of work, E!online reported.
In May, Lohan crashed her Mercedes into a tree on Sunset Boulevard and was found to be over the alcohol limit and in possession of cocaine. She entered rehab shortly afterwards.
As punishment for both incidents, Lohan served 84 minutes in prison, two months in a rehabilitation centre and 10 days of community service for the American Red Cross.
Lohan was also placed on 36 months probation, was required to complete an 18-month alcohol education program and was fined hundreds of dollars.
"It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs," Lohan said in a statement in August.
