Jessica Simpson Ticked Off And Taking On Tabloid Over Breakup Reports

Jessica Simpson is not happy about reports that she and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo have not broken up and she’s suing.

Simpson’s attorneys at Rosenberg & Giger sent a legal demand notice to the editor-in-chief of OK! magazine accusing the tabloid of printing a “defamatory and gratuitously mean-spirited article.”

The article entitled “Jessica Dumped” refers to Simpson and Romo’s supposed breakup. The article goes on to say that Ashlee Simpson is

trying to “distance herself” from her sister.

In the letter Simpson’s layers say the article is “utterly false, it is based on nothing more than rumor, gossip and innuendo spread by supposed, albeit unnamed, ‘sources’ who, even if they actually exist, obviously lack sufficient confidence in their accusations to risk public attribution.”

The lawyers say in writing:

(1) Mr. Romo and Ms. Simpson have not broken off their romantic relationship; and (2) Ashlee Simpson had made no effort to “distance herself” from her sister, Jesssica, with whom she remains extremely close.

The letter also demands that “OK! immediately publish a prominent and unambiguous retraction of the Article and that it cease and desist from publishing any further false and misleading attacks.
