Rachel Hylton has become the latest act to be voted off ITV's The X Factor after a sing-off with boy band JLS.
Judge Simon Cowell, who had the deciding vote, told the mother-of-five he was a fan of hers but she had been in the sing-off three times.
Putting on a brave face at the end of the Take That-themed show, Rachel said: "I'm fine, someone has to go home."
Earlier, Rachel's mentor Dannii Minogue was in tears after a row with rival Louis Walsh over their song choice.
It emerged JLS had wanted to sing Take That's 2007 hit Rule the World, which Rachel sang on the night.
Instead, the boy band performed A Million Love Songs during the main part of the show. Then when the public vote consigned them to the bottom two, they won over the judges with their rendition of Sean Kingston's reggae hit Beautiful Girl.
The judging panel praised Rachel for her version of Jennifer Holliday's And I'm Telling You (I'm Not Going) but, of the four judges, only Minogue voted to save her.
Rachel's departure means there are five acts left in the show: JLS, Diana Vickers, Ruth Lorenzo, Eoghan Quigg and Alexandra Burke.
