Former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker has been released from hospital after suffering severe burns in a plane crash in Columbia earlier this month.

Barker and disc jockey DJ AM were the only survivors of the accident, which killed two pilots and two passengers.

DJ AM - whose real name is Adam Goldstein - was released from the hospital last week. Both men are expected to make a full recovery.

Safety officials said a tyre blowout may have been the cause of the crash.

Third-degree burns

The National Transportation Safety Board said a cockpit voice recording suggested the crew tried unsuccessfully to abort take-off after hearing a probable blowout.

Both stars suffered second and third-degree burns.

The accident happened after Barker and Goldstein, who perform together under the name TRVSDJ-AM, played a free concert in Columbia.

Goldstein dated and was briefly engaged to reality TV star Nicole Richie.

In February 2005, pop punk trio Blink-182 announced they were going on an "indefinite hiatus" with no plans to work together in the future.

Blink-182 had nine UK hits including All the Small Things in 2000.
