Everyone has been talking about the chemistry between Simon Cowell and new X Factor judge Cheryl Cole...and now Simon has admitted that she turned him down two years ago.
Simon revealed all in an interview for the official X Factor website.
He admitted: "I originally offered Cheryl the role of judge on Britain's Got Talent, she said yes, and then two days later she blew me out!
"I'm glad of it because I'm happy with Amanda Holden, but The X Factor is the ideal show for Cheryl. She's perfect for it, she's been through the process, has had a successful music career, and she's gobby! So I'm very happy she's here!"
Cheryl has admitted that she does have a small crush on the music mogul. She told The Mirror: "Do you know, I have always had a little soft spot for him, if I am totally honest.
"But I do tell him when I think he is wrong because he is not always right."
Cheryl will certainly be getting brownie points from Cowell.
She added: "Just being around Simon, and his ego, he's taught me quite a lot. He's made me a lot more confident and a comfortable."
Simon certainly rates the Girls Aloud singer and told reporters: "I'm going to really embarrass her now. But she is one of the best people I've ever worked with."
