British Olympic cyclist Rebecca Romero poses nude for Powerade ad campaign

British Olympic cyclist Rebecca Romero, 28, has posed naked for an advertising campaign for Powerade, the official sports drink of the Beijing Games.

Her shots have been clicked by award-winning photographer Nadav Kander. Triple jumper Phillips Idowu and swimmer Gregor Tait also stripped off for the campaign. Her picture can see on their website here.

It is all a part of the campaign called Nothing but InnerGear. The website says:

‘Powerade’ is the body’s InnerGear. In sport it’s the one piece of essential sports equipment that gives athletes greater performance when they need it most. With the help of three of our most promising Team GB athletes we captured the essence of what InnerGear means and in the process brought the new ‘Powerade’ campaign to life.

Rebecca Romero, Philips Idowu and Gregor Tait all took a rare break from their schedules and bravely agreed to be stripped of their OuterGear. Left with nothing but their InnerGear and shot taking part in their sport, the campaign shows the importance of fuelling their most valuable asset – their body.

“This is definitely one of the more unusual shoots I’ve taken part in, but also one of the most enjoyable,” The Telegraph quoted Idowu as saying.

He added: “The inner gear for an athlete - how we train, what we eat, drink and when we sleep - is as important as what we wear.”
