The Osbournes' TV return

The Osbournes are set to return to TV presenting a new variety show.

The mad family, led by former Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy, and including Ozzy's wife Sharon and children Kelly and Jack, first shot to fame starring in MTV reality show 'The Osbournes', and are tipped to find more success with their new series.

A TV insider said: "This show is going to reunite the family with all the madness that that entails. It's going to be in the same vein as an old-fashioned variety show."

Sharon, who quit her role as a judge on TV talent show 'The X Factor' earlier this year, is said to be "really excited" about the programme.

Since 'The Osbournes', the family have proved their presenting potential by hosting the Brit Awards in February. Kelly and Jack also hosted the backstage portion of The National Television Awards in 2006.

The new variety show is being made by Freemantle-Media, the production company which owns TalkbackThames - who make 'The X Factor' and 'Britain's Got Talent'.

It is also expected to be sold to US TV network Fox.
