Heath Ledger's family 'so proud' of new film The Dark Knight

Heath Ledger's family have said that they are "so proud" of his work on 'The Dark Knight' after attending the New York premiere of the movie.

According to People magazine, the star's father Kim said in a statement: "'The Dark Knight' is everything we hoped it would be and more.

"Heath loved the experience of creating this character and working on the film. We are so proud of our boy."

Ledger's mother, father and sister flew from Australia to New York to attend the premiere with the movie's stars earlier this week.
