Big Brother 9 Rex lays into Rachel after audition tapes revealed

Big Brother 9 contestant Rex Newmark has called fellow competitor Rachel Rice "the most boring housemate ever".

After the four housemates on the 'Heaven' side - Rex, Head of House Stuart Pilkington, Mikey Hughes and Mohamed Mohamed - were gathered in the diary room, they were provided with pizza, chocolate and alcohol before being shown fellow housemates' audition tapes.

And after discussing the "lies" in Maysoon Shaladi's video and labelling Dale Howard a "k**b", the group laid into Welsh housemate Rachel.

Her tape showed her saying she was "happy and enthusiastic" - to which Stuart retorted: "That is nothing like Rachel" - before Rex claimed to feel sorry for Rachel's in-house friend Kathreya Kasisopa over Rachel's apparent two-faced behaviour.

Rather than keeping their viewing experience to themselves, the four then decided to gather the entire house together to tell them their thoughts on the videos.

They told Dale of how he came across badly in saying he would do anything for £100,000 while Maysoon was told she was the biggest liar in the house.

But it was Rachel, a trainee teacher, who received the brunt of the abuse from the group.

Rex told Rachel that she had come across on the video as sexy, through standing up and telling the camera she is a curvy girl, but was not confident in the house.

He labelled her "the most boring housemate ever" and added: "I'd swap you for scrabble."

And in the garden later that night, he asked her: "Do you know why I have no respect for you?

"It's because you're trying to tell us that we're lying to you.

"The honest thing for you to have done was to say, you know, I did it to get through my auditions".

When Rachel argued that the person on the tape is a true representation of her character, Rex again called her a liar.

Speaking in the diary room after Rex's tirade, Rachel commented: "You try and be strong."

She went on: "My VT is me. There are parts of me that aren't obviously shown in my VT, which is what people are seeing in here.

"The worst part of all of it is that people think I'm a fraud".
