Daniel Craig wants to 'keep going as Bond'

Actor Daniel Craig, who played James Bond in the latest film about the superspy, said in an interview published Friday he wanted to continue playing the role for as long as he could.

"Until my joints go I will keep going as Bond," the 40-year-old told The Sun tabloid.

"I have no intention of giving up just yet."

Craig was speaking to the British paper in Chile, during breaks between filming the latest Bond film, "Quantum of Solace", which producers have said will feature even more action scenes than Craig's Bond debut in 2006, "Casino Royale".

He added that he was focused on the current film, however, telling The Sun: "It's important that we make the best movies possible, so I can hopefully sit back in semi-retirement at some point and look back and think they were wonderful movies."

The newest Bond film picks up where "Casino Royale" left off, Craig said, telling the paper: "At the end of 'Casino Royale', the love of Bond's life has been taken from him."

"There is a sense of vengeance. He's out to get them."

"Quantum of Solace" is set to be released later this year.
