Brad Pitt students' no 1 guest

Students on an events management course in Edinburgh have named Brad Pitt as the most desirable guest to have at a party.

The survey carried out at Queen Margaret University revealed that the Archbishop of Canterbury was the least desirable, with Paris Hilton ranking as the second least popular guest.

Dr Joe Goldblatt, an American events guru who has organised parties for American presidents, surveyed students as part of a popular culture module.

Dr Goldblatt, who moved to Edinburgh to become a lecturer at the university at the start of the year, said: "This is one way we may better connect with a new generation of students. The survey allows us to identify their current preferences and trends."
