John Mayer to Ex: "I Don't Want You In My Life!"

John Mayer is an odd bird. The singer, who has dated Jessica Simpson, Cameron Diaz and, most recently, Friday Night Lights's Minka Kelly, says on his website that he has written some new lyrics to a song, in the form of a letter to an ex-lover. He does warn readers not to "read too far into this on a personal level. (There are no hidden messages)... I just thought it sums up how crazy love can be."

Here it is:

Dear Ex Lover,
Perhaps you didn't understand the last time I told you to stop contacting me, so I'll do my best to spell it out for you. I do not wish to have you in my life anymore. I don't know how much more clear I can be about it. It would serve you best to move on with your life and find someone who can put up with you, because I'm done trying.
I hope this is enough closure for you.
Goodbye.

It's funny, because it is so true. But it does make me wonder if he was inspired by one of his exes. My guess would be Minka, considering John dropped her like a bad habit right before New Years, but maybe this is something somebody said to him?

Anyway, I'll try not to read too much into it, like he advised, but John has a way of always piquing my interest and wondering what's going on in that cute head of his.
