The Insider Host Pat O'Brien Hits Rehab Again

Pat O'Brien gets back inside the doors of rehab. The 'The Insider' host has checked again into a rehab to treat his alcohol problems. This is the second time O'Brien asked for professional help, he had already been admitted to a facility in 2005 for 40 days.

"O'Brien and his doctors felt this is the best course for maintaining his sobriety," the tabloid TV news program's rep says in a statement.

The 59-year-old former sports commentator had become the subject of a voice mail scandal back in 2005, around the time he decided to enter a rehab facility. He had then expressed his regret for the drunk dialing incident, which believed to be directed at Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson.

"I have had a problem with alcohol. Overcoming this problem is a top priority in my life," O'Brien had said at that time. "When you hit the bottom with this disease, it's a real bottom, like being in a grave that hasn't been covered yet.

"On the other side of that door is hell. And I'm not ready to see that again," he said at that time.
