High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens is reportedly being lined up for the role of Sam in new movie Will - a coming-of-age story about a high school rock band made up of misfits, according to reports.
The movie - set to begin production next month in Austin, Texas, is described as a dramedy about a popular girl forming a rock band with a bunch of young outcasts who come together over their love of music and compete in a local Battle of the Bands.
The 19-year-old actress - who sparked controversy in September last year, after naked pictures of her appeared online, will play a role of a 15-year-old former stutterer who gets involved with the lead outcast.
Later this year, the actress - who is dating her High School Musical co-star, Zac Efron, 20, will resume her role as Gabriella Montez in the fourth installment of the popular kids show, this time for theatrical release, rather than airing on TV’s Disney Channel.
