Mr. Big Has a Baby

Chris Noth, better known as Mr. Big to all his Sex and the City fans, and longtime galpal Tara Wilson officially welcomed the arrival of a son on Friday, a rep for the actor told People.

"I am happy to confirm that Chris Noth and Tara Wilson are the proud parents of a happy and healthy baby boy," the spokesperson said. "Chris and Tara are thrilled and all are doing well."

In continuing the ever-growing tradition of unusual celebrity baby names--think Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter, Apple Martin or Jason Lee's kid Pilot Inspektor--the twosome found inspiration in the stars.

Orion Christopher Noth was born in Los Angeles and weighed in at a not quite Mr. Big but pretty good seven pounds and ten ounces.

This is the pair's first child.

Before embarking on fatherhood, Noth recently reprised his role as Carrie Bradshaw's charming on-again, off-again squeeze in Sex and the City: The Movie, due out this spring.

When he's not shooting that flick, the thesp has been pulling double duty playing his other alter-ego, Detective Mike Logan, in Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Noth reportedly first met Wilson, an actress, when she was an employee at The Cutting Room, the New York City bar and music lounge that he co-owns. The happy couple recently co-starred together in the indie drama, Frame of Mind, and announced the pregnancy back in November.
