'Hannah Montana' concert film tickets are going fast

Parents too slow and too broke to buy Hannah Montana concert tickets probably figured that surely, they could handle getting a $15 pass to the Hannah concert movie.

Don't be so sure.

Ticket sales for the limited-run movie are hot, and showtimes are selling out across the country, including in Cleveland. Two Cleveland-area theaters are among more than 600 getting the movie.

Cinemark Valley View has sold out most of its 20 weekend screenings, and is adding extras.

Regal Cinemas Cobblestone Square 20 in Elyria already has sold out a Friday-evening screening, and expects more sold-out theaters, long lines and excited girls.

The "Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert" movie opens nationwide Friday, Feb. 1, and plays for only one week.

Tickets are on sale at theater box offices or online at www.fandango.com.

Regal associate manager Jim Blaylock sees parents buying tickets for their Hannah-crazed daughters because it's cheaper than tickets to Hannah's sold-out Jan. 3 concert at The Q. Tickets were $26 to $56 for that show, but brokers were asking hundreds of dollars.

"They seem to be very excited, for some reason," Blaylock said about people buying advance tickets.

The concert movie includes Disney Digital 3-D footage from three recent concerts on the 54-date tour. Miley, 15, per forms as herself and as her television alter ego, Hannah Montana of the Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana" series.
