Christina Aguilera Delivers Baby Boy

Christina Aguilera and her husband Jordan Bratman became parents for the first time on Friday to a baby boy, it has been reported.

The 27-year-old singer delivered the baby just down the hall from Nicole Richie, who also gave birth to her first child, at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

The baby news was spread via text message to friends and family at around 4 p.m.: "Baby has arrived. Mom and dad are doing well!"

While no other details were available immediately, "As soon as I have more information I will let you know," Aguilera’s rep was quoted by E!Online as saying.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the singer was scheduled for a C-section on January 10, and that the couple was considering names for their child, including Jordan, Max or Jackson Jake.

Rumors about Aguilera being pregnant started in June last year, when the singer reportedly shared the joy with her friends and family, but refused to make any official announcements despite the obvious baby bump.

The first confirmation came in September when Paris Hilton took the stage at a packed Las Vegas nightclub revealing Aguilera’s secret.

"Congratulations to the most beautiful pregnant woman in the world. You're gorgeous," Hilton said at the time.

The singer opened up about her pregnancy and motherhood for January’s issue of Marie Claire, explaining her decision to keep the baby news to herself and those close to her, as well as her desires for a big family.

"Because I hadn’t said anything, people thought I was trying to keep it this big, bad secret, and that’s not the case at all," Aguilera told Marie Claire. "I just wasn’t commenting. I’m not being like, ‘Hey, everybody, I’m pregnant!‘ I’m not that girl."
